BDI candidate, for the commune of Tetovo, Teuta Arifi has accepted her defeat and back down from the race. Arifi, who was looking for a third term, wished her opponent, Besa’s Bilall Kasami, for his win.
“I would like to thank all voters. Based on what we have so far, BDI wasn’t able to win in Tetovo. It was an intensive campaign, however, as we’ve always said, the people have the last word. They’ve decided to elect another communal leadership. So, I wish the new leaders of Tetovo well” – said Arifi.
After the press conference, Arifi and supporters of Besa Movement went out to the city’s main square to celebrate the win. Kasami led the race with around 2500 votes, beating BDI in one of its most important communes.
