Albanian pensioners will receive a compensation of 5,000 Albanian Lek (€40) at the end of the year.
The Minister of Finances and the Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj said that that the government has already secured $34 million that will be allocated for the compensation, a sum that unlike previous years will not be withdrawn from State Reserve Fund.
While reporting in front of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance on Monday, minister Ibrahimaj said that the bonus, together with the indexation, will lead to an increase in pensions of 5% per year.
In total, Albania has 660,000 pensioners, who will benefit from the New Year’s bonus, however, state retirement pensions will not be raised during next year.
