The main long-term consequences seen in COVID cases are psychological ones, declared doctor Aurora Meta-Dollenberg on Good Morning.

Distraction, loss of concentration, as well as challenges in learning, were among the most reported problems by people who had passed COVID, explained doctor Meta-Dollenberg.

She also noted that the virus tends to attack the nervous system, also interfering with metabolism. According to her, this may lead to chronic fatigue, which might potentially deteriorate into pessimism and then depression.

The doctor also spoke about cases when children had contracted COVID, noting that in some cases it had affected their growth and psychological state.

“Some individuals have a weak genetic response to the virus, while some others are born with more immunity. The latter, if they get infected, they tend to be asymptomatic, or just have some mild symptoms”.
