Albania began on Tuesday to administer a third COVID-19 vaccine dose to medical staff, as also confirmed by health minister Ogerta Manastirliu.
“On the other hand, we’ve also started applying booster doses for all citizens older than 60”, added Manastirliu.
Medical staff, people living in long-term care institutions, and all citizens older than sixty are all eligible to get the booster dose six months after the injection of the second jab.
Family doctors can also recommend the third jab to people suffering from autoimmune diseases.
According to the Institute of Public Health, teens aged from 12-15 with chronic diseases are also encouraged to get a third dose.
