1323 students have been tested for COVID-19 so far in cities across North Macedonia, 6 of whom were confirmed positive.
All those infected were pupils attending public primary schools.
The ministry of health announced that testing to identity further infections will include around 8000 students from all over the country and this process will then become an overview for teaching personal to organize classes during the next term.
The testing phase will end tomorrow in the majority of cities, whereas final results will be ready by next week.
At the moment, there are 885 children, ages 0-17 that have contracted the coronavirus and are receiving treatment, whereas 15 of them have just received confirmation of their infection.
At the Children Institute of Lung Diseases, there are currently 19 inpatients, from 9 to 16 years old. Of them, only one is receiving oxygen therapy. None of the infected children have been vaccinated.
So far, 5.800 children, ages 12 through 17 have received at least one dose of the anti-COVID vaccine, whereas 4.860 have received both doses.
