The Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic has stated that Prishtina, Sarajevo and Podgorica have opened their doors to ‘Open Balkan’.

He also deemed it an initiative for the people and stressed out that the thought to justify himself to others, including the EU, hasn’t even crossed his mind.

“Why should I justify myself for something that is good? Do you know the advantages that come with such an initiative?’ – said Vucic.

The Serbian president also spoke about the relations between Albanians and Serbs and put an emphasis on what Rama had to say about both countries a few days ago.

“Serbians and Albanians should put an end to their bickering over who plays the Germans and who plays the French; [otherwise] they risk not agreeing about anything. This is the best way to understand each other and guarantee peace,” – said Vucic.

PM Rama also commented on the repeated invitation made by the Serbian president to have Kosovo become part of the ‘Open Balkan’ initiative.

According to Rama, this invitation should be put to the test and the only way to do this is by joining the initiative.

Rama has said that he sees ‘Open Balkan’ as nothing more or nothing less than an extension of the Berlin Process, with the only difference being that no one can ‘take it hostage’, referring to Bulgaria’s veto.
