Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Serbia soon, or invite his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic to Ankara.
“I will either go to Serbia or call Vucic”, he declared.
During a meeting with representatives from the Bosnian diaspora, Erdogan said that Turkey does not want a conflict to erupt there, and vowed to intervene in finding a solution.
“We don’t want that Bosnia and Herzegovina to turn into an area of influence nor further conflicts. We have intensified diplomatic efforts after tensions that undermine the integrity”, Erdogan said.
Shortly after his statement, Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik announced that he will be meeting with the Turkish president on Tuesday.
Erdogan vowed to invest over $250 million, and hailed the railway project linking Sarajevo to Belgrade as “a peace project”.
