The deputy chairs of the Democratic Party, Alfred Rushaj and Jorida Tabaku, met with the European Parliament’s rapporteur on Albania Isabel Santos.

On behalf of the Democrats, Rushaj and Tabaku expressed their concerns on the current state of governance in the country amid a lack of the rule of law.

They also briefed Santos on the reforms initiated by the Democratic Party, such as vetting politicians and high-level officials, as well as the electoral and territorial reforms.

“All three initiatives are at the service of the citizens in order to achieve European standards”, argued DP’s representative.

Isabelle Santos spoke about the integration of the Western Balkan countries in the bloc, adding that the process is at the focus of the European Parliament and that all steps taken by candidate countries are being watched closely.
