In tonight’s ‘Shock’, political analyst Andi Bushati said that the former Special Envoy during Donald Trump’s administration in Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Grenell, has come out in support of Sali Berisha due to their shared stance against multi-billionaire George Soros.
According to Bushati, Grenell, who used to be a chief of secret services and has been involved in issues of the Western Balkans, has stated that he hasn’t seen any compromising document, despite the fact that the analyst has his own doubts about this declaration.
“Grenell used to be a chief of secret services during Trump’s administration and during his time in office, he used to be involved in the Balkan issues, especially Kosovo, and he has said that he’s never seen a single compromising document against Sali Berisha. In a way, he debunks the storyline presented by American diplomats, who say that this has been an ongoing matter instead of a last-minute decision,” -said Bushati.
In addition, analyst Baton Haxhiu gave his take, saying that Grenell’s recent declaration doesn’t exclude the possibility that there might still be a casefile on Berisha. Secondly, Haxhiu said that he’s not particularly fond of Grenell, seeing that his discourse ‘isn’t the best it could have been’.
“Grenell is in three countries, Serbia, Albania and Kosovo and in all three countries, Grenell doesn’t work for free. No American I know works for free and what’s crucial here is who he works for and who he’s paid by here in Albania. I am seeing a polemic in Serbia due to the fact that he is friends with the minister of finance there and has a lobbying contract. But what’s his deal with Berisha?” – said Haxhiu.
Lastly, Haxhiu said that it is crucial to look at who Grenell has been meeting with during his visits to Albania, in order to find out who he is lobbying for.
