In a meeting that was called earlier today by the Council of Ministers, the former General Director of the State Police, Ardi Veliu, was appointed deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy. Veliu stepped down from his function as Chief of Police on October 5, after having served for the last 4 years.
After leaving the police ranks, Veliu has now decided to dedicate himself entirely to politics, even though this appointment contradicts the desire he expressed in his letter of resignation, where he said that he would now prefer to devote his time to his children and family.
Ardi Veliu’s place as Chief of Police was taken by Gledis Nano. Earlier, Nano served as Chief of the Anti-Terror Division.
