The president of the US Chamber of Commerce, Enio Jaco asked the Commission of Economy to extend the deadline of consultations in regards to the changes expected to be applied to the 2022 fiscal package.
In a letter addressed to the chair of the Commission of Economy, Eduard Shalsi and the minister of finance, Delina Ibrahmiaj, Jaco expressed his disappointment in the Chamber regarding the repeated and flagrant legal violations, in the process of public consultations as well as the continuous changes to the fiscal package, at a time when the government has publicly vowed to stop meddling with it on such a frequent basis.
Jaco also underlined the importance of drafting a new tax law, as a direct request of the international business community.
“The 4-year period dedicated to a new income tax law, would give the working group a chance to unify the taxation of employees and physical or commercial subjects,” – wrote Jaco.
Jaco has expressed his criticism of the current legislation in previous statements as well, saying that it is old-fashioned and needs to be brought up to date.
For all of the above-mentioned motivations, the US Chamber of Commerce is asking for the extension of the draft bill, allowing ‘groups of interest more time to exercise their right, by familiarizing themselves with the contents of this law and offering their suggestions on how to improve it further”.
