Former PM Sali Berisha took aim at the leader of the ruling majority from Saranda, where he went as part of his nationwide tour.
“Edi Rama began to celebrate too early thinking that he got rid of the DP and decide everything himself in the country. Rama is badly mistaken as he counted the leader (Basha) as a hostage, but did not consider the democrats across the country who were not sold and will not be subdued”, Berisha said.
He also spoke about the National Assembly expected to convene on December 11.
DP’s former chair referenced the American Constitution drawing a parallel between the quote “we, the people of the United States” and said “we, the member of the Democratic Party” will determine the future of the party.
“We will rise as victorious”, Berisha declared.
Regarding the signatures gathered to convene the National Assembly, Berisha explained that every signature has “a name, last name, vocation, and corresponding to the number of the membership ”. To Berisha, current leader Basha is “a leader without a party”.
“He is mostly scared as he knows that you will never accept his under-the-table deals with Edi Rama. You refuse to surrender the sovereignty of the opposition, as it will never rise to power and remain a vassal. Now, his biggest fear is your signatures”, concluded Berisha.
