5 citizens are being prosecuted after the clash between farmers and police in the protest that took place yesterday at the ‘Rotondo e Plugut’ in Lushnje.
The five farmers are being accused of ‘obstructing ongoing traffic’, ‘disobeying the orders of a police officer’ and ‘organizing and participating in illegal demonstrations’.
They are also being accused of blocking the free circulation of traffic for around 15 minutes and violently disobeying officers of the police.
Yesterday’s protest ended with a violent physical confrontation between farmers and the police. Farmers staged this protest against the government’s changes to the fiscal package, which amongst other things also planned to waive the 6% VAT subsidy that was previously granted to this sector.
