COVID-19 in Albania: 4 victims and 475 new confirmed cases

Four citizens aged 57-83 from Tirana died on Sunday from COVID-19, taking the official death toll to 2,990 from the beginning of the pandemic.

Also, 475 citizens tested positive over the course of the last 24 hours. The positive case count in Albania is now at 193,075.
Currently, there are 186 patients receiving medical care at the hospital, of which 25 in serious condition.

The Ministry of Health reiterated its appeal to get jabbed for all citizens older than 16.

In Albania, children older than 12 suffering from various immune system disorders are also eligible to get vaccinated, upon a recommendation from the family doctor, while the country has also started administering booster shots for +65.

The number of active cases rose to 8,436 across the country, with Tirana remaining the epicenter of the virus due to its 4,379 active infections.
