On January 18, the Constitutional Court will oversee the decision where a parliamentary majority voted to impeach Albanian President Ilir Meta.
The date was announced on the court’s official page.
More than five months ago, 104 MPs voted to impeach Ilir Meta from the presidential post.
The court is set to deliberate and give its verdict no later than 30 days from January 18.
Socialist lawmakers claimed at the time that the president had “flagrantly infringed the Constitution’ and that his “acts, behavior and messages conveyed failed to guarantee national unity” and incited violent riots led by party militants which “terrorized citizens and limited their freedoms”.
