DP chair, Lulzim Basha conducted a meeting with 71 district branch leaders, with whom he shared concerns regarding the recent debates unraveling within the Democratic Party.
Basha told district leaders that the common enemy of all Democrats is Edi Rama and that every single division amongst them, only serves the latter.
“Rama is our common opponent, despite what we think in the present situation. Fighting one another won’t take us anywhere. It only serves Rama and his personal ‘crutches’, who are doing everything in their power to turn this internal battle into a reason for the division of the party. You are all witnesses to this,” – said Basha.
In addition, Basha forwarned former PM Sali Berisha that he will get an answer from the party’s statute in regards to his ‘illegitimate activities, efforts to turn the party into a bunker and the damages he caused to the electoral and political interests of DP”
“And I will enforce the statute against anyone. Whoever violates the decision of the Party’s Leadership, will meet his fate that has been prescribed by the party’s’ statute, and this includes Sali Berisha. Enough is enough! No member is above the statute or any other member,” – continued Basha.
According to Basha, Berisha is using the Democratic Party as a personal shield in the face of the United States.
