DP’s deputy chair, Grida Duma posted a public message on social media, speaking about the recent developments in regards to the opposition and the initiative of former PM, Sali Berisha to convene DP’s National Assembly.

While reminding Berisha that she has been one of the few political personalities to support him after the defeat of the 203 parliamentary elections, Duma asked him to be ‘kind’ during this political battle within the opposition.

“…I’m convinced that time will tell that I was right to act the way I did. The conviction and clarity I have today were the same since 2013, when the traitors that had benefited from him for years, gathered against Sali Berisha, and no one would come out and publicly support him. Not even those whose lives were changed by him. I defended Sali Berisha as the political personality that took upon him the responsibility and acted as a statesman,” – said Duma.

However, the deputy chair of DP added that this does in no way, ‘mean that I am asking for peace or understanding from Sali Berisha, but it is only just another reason, for me to ask of him to be responsible in his public discourse”.

Duma’s reaction comes after Evi Kokalari’s remarks from Berisha’s ‘Pulpit’ tour in Fushe-Kruja, where she said that she wasn’t jealous of Mrs. Duma because she considered her ‘unclean and immoral’.

Without mentioning her name, Duma accused Kokalari of being amongst those that are now gathering around Berisha in order to find yet another way of personally benefiting from him.
