The EU integration process is stuck because of Albania, not the EU. This is the stance shared by the majority of Albanians, but they do however pin the blame on Albanian politicians.
About half of all Albanians (49.2%) think that the only reason for our country’s lack of integration into the EU is that we haven’t fulfilled all the preset conditions. Whereas around 1/3 blame both Albania and the EU.
In addition, only 15% of Albanian citizens hold the EU responsible for the ongoing hiatus.
The majority, however, blame their politicians. 4 in every 5 Albanians consider the incapacity of their politicians (80.1%) as well as their ongoing conflicts amongst one another (79.9%) as the main factors that lower their chance of becoming members.
Data were recorded during a poll led by MRB and Data Centrum from October 20-29, 2021 that included 1.000 face-to-face interviews conducted at a national level.
