Lulzim Basha declared earlier today that he has received an invitation from the US government to hold an official visit in the United States that will be focused on how various important issues can be tended to.
“Without any doubt, I intend to discuss important issues on the future of Albania, the Albanian nation, and the future of the region. At a time that is filled with challenges put forth by actors that don’t partake in the Albanian-US agenda, or the Euro-Atlantic agenda,” – said the head of Democrats.
According to Basha, the United States is well aware of the Democratic Party’s full support, not only in terms of their bilateral contribution in historical processes like the NATO accession or Kosovo’s Independence but also in regards to holding a similar vision when it comes to the Balkans’ orientation towards the West.
Basha also underlined that so far, a Western-oriented Balkans has only been lobbied for through words and theatrics, instead of actions, which according to the DP chair include things like the free market, free and fair elections, free press and the freedom for citizens.
