PM Edi Rama accompanied by the minister of agriculture, Frida Krifca, dedicated today to presenting the 2022 State Budget on far
The head of state deemed the farmers’ protests legitimate, but added however that the majority aren’t well-informed.
Rama explained the reasoning behind the government lifting the 6% reimbursement, arguing that it was a scheme that had never really worked out because revenue had only been accumulated by several big businesses and never had a direct impact on farmers themselves.
In addition, Rama said that Albania is the first country in the region in terms of funding for farming, which according to him serve to add up and make this year’s budget unlike any previous year.
The growth in the agricultural sector these past years, according to the prime minister, only speaks to a positive outcome, especially when looking at the number of exports, which are only going up.
