Sources confirm, that the General Director of the State Police Gledis Nano has signed an order requiring police officers on all levels to undergo a drug test.

The Police announced that it had signed a cooperation agreement with a private lab to “create the possibility for a periodical medical examination of all State Police employees, in the framework of raising the standards and personal integrity, and stop drug use among police officers”.

The order will apply to all structures within the State Police.

Nano is also demanding that the order comes to force immediately.

Reportedly, Nano said that periodical tests will slash accusations addressed on the State Police.

Deputy chief of police Albert Dervishaj is set to discuss this more broadly at a press conference due at 2:45 at the police headquarters.
