In the past 24 hours, 4 citizens have unfortunately lost their lives in Albania, whereas another 418 were confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus.
The new cases were discovered after results came back on a total of 2.934 tests conducted on a national level.
In addition, another 451 citizens recovered in the past 24 hours bringing the total known number of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 189.044.
There are currently 7.422 known active cases spread across the country, the majority of whom are concentrated in the capital city.
Meanwhile, a total of 152 citizens have been hospitalized, 16 of whom are exhibiting severe forms of the virus.
The Ministry of Health is calling on citizens to get their vaccines as soon as possible.
Every citizen over the age of 16, can get their vaccine in a health center closest to them or a vaccination clinic. Vaccination is also open to children over the age of 12 that suffer from autoimmune diseases and have a doctor’s recommendation.
The third booster dose is also being administered and everyone interested to get it should consult their family doctor.
