The Albanian government passed an act regulating online shopping.

Speaking to the media, finance minister Delina Ibrahimaj declared that the act aims to shield citizens from fraudulent schemes and provide more guarantees on online purchases.

A task group will trace businesses that sell their products online, but are not subject to income taxes, explained Ibrahimaj.

“It has to do with the refund period, fixing the time period when a product can be returned, which for the moment is 14 days. From the day that consumers take the product home, they have a right to return the product within 14 days. Also, it has to do with payment services. Last year, there was a change in the law on payments, and this bill aims to fix and give higher guarantees for payment services”, concluded minister Ibrahimaj.
