PM Albin Kurti and health minister Rifat Latifi introduced some of the new measures to fight the spread of COVID-19 in Kosovo.
Latifi said that they are considering offering vaccines during the weekend as well as put vaccine booths at the airport.
All citizens entering Kosovo will be required to confirm that they are fully vaccinated, while those who only had one jab will have to do a test. Starting from January 3, Kosovo will only allow entrance to travelers who’ve had two vaccine doses.
Minister Latifi said that in order to avoid the closure of schools and businesses, employees in public and private institutions, public transport passengers, students, malls, or restaurant businesses, will be required to show a certificate proving full or partial vaccination.
PM Albin Kurti said that measures will be reviewed if the danger from the virus is diminished.
He stated that the best way to fight the pandemic is through massive vaccination, adding that new measures are necessary in order to keep the epidemiological situation under control.
