The National Assembly of the Democratic Party called for by former PM Sali Berisha will take place at the Air Albania Stadium, said MP Belind Kellici in an interview for Euronews Albania, also explaining the reason why it was chosen as an appropriate venue.

“The Palace of Congresses has 2,800 seats. Currently, we have over 5,070 signatures. So, the most adapt place is Air Albania stadium”, Kellici said.

He also gave a few details about how will delegates be identified.

“Delegates will be identified through a barcode or a mandate that they have based on their function. There will be a special tribune where all delegates will be sitting and it will be open to the media. Every mandate will have a barcode which will be registered automatically and displayed in a monitor at the stadium”, he said.

Kellici also outlined some of the statute changes that will be voted on December 11.

“Resignation or automatic removal of a leader after they lose in the general elections. We will also introduce primaries. Primaries for branch leaders, MP candidates, mayors and delegates, because we will demand that we no longer have an Assembly with 7600 delegates”.
