DP chair, Lulzim Basha has just made a public appearance to address the unprecedented events that took place today, when Sali Berisha and a crowd of his supporters swarmed into the Democratic Party headquarters.

In his opening statements, Basha condemned today’s event saying that ‘they were violent scenes, reminiscent of the infamous year, 1997’.

According to Basha, Sali Berisha belongs to the past and has now become a burden and an obstacle for Democrats, in their objective to bring down Edi Rama’s government.

“This is an ugly spectacle of the past, of the past that DP has decided to leave behind. The reason for such behavior, which is reminiscent of the past, is yesterday’s decision made by the National Council. The time when National Council halls turned into boxing rings are over. This is a sign of our irreversible parting from Sali Berisha’s dark side,” – said Basha.

Basha called Berisha an old former communist, a desperate minority, which Democrats will leave behind. He accused the former prime minister of continuing to contribute to keeping Edi Rama in power.
