The leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha reacted to the arrest of former environment minister Lefter Koka by saying that DP’s accusations “were proved right”.
“The arrest of the minister from Rama’s cabinet proves that our accuses were right, what we had been denouncing was completely grounded. Having said that, no one believes that he is the big fish”, said Basha.
Although referring to his arrest as “a victory”, Basha said that there are others who should be put in front of justice.
“Those who are really behind this €400 million affair are Edi Rama, Damian Gjiknuri, Erion Veliaj, Arben Ahmetaj, Klodian Mërtiri, and many more As long as this action is incomplete, there will be no justice for this terrible affair that has made Albanians poorer”, he said, adding that this is “simply the beginning of a process”
Former environment minister Lefter Koka was arrested on Tuesday in Durres after an arrest warrant was issued from SPAK. He is accused of abuse of office, money laundering, and corruption during his time in office.
