‘Contracts for the incinerators are some of the greatest corruptive affairs that the state budget has had to suffer to date, but also in the future, if we take into account the hidden costs” – said DP’s deputy chair, Jorida Tabaku on Euronews Albania’s ‘Morning’, while underlining that DP has been denouncing such cases for the past 6 years.

“After’s DP’s request, an inquiry commission was also established in parliament to address this issue. During the last 6 years, we have denounced them in several different ways. We have been to the incinerators as well, where absolutely no work has begun, except for the one in Elbasan,” – she said.

Tabaku added that the arrest of former minister of environment, Lefter Koka, is only one-tenth of what needs to be uncovered.

“Lefter Koka is now facing the law but he didn’t perform those procedures alone,” – added Tabaku.

DP’s deputy chair also declared that the contracts for the incinerators of Fier and Tirana have been publicly protected by Edi Rama.

“The procedures were managed directly by the Prime Minister’s office and they involve former minister Arben Ahmetaj, former minister Damian Gjiknuri and three mayors including, Erion Veliaj, Armando Subashi and Qazim Sejdini,” – said said.
