In the open session led by the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, he said that he has received information warning him that in “Kosovo and Metohia the referendum of January 16 regarding the constitutional changes needed to be applied to the judiciary won’t be approved”.
“We are always facing many problems in Kosovo and Metohia. Prishtina has made a decision and notified us informally that they won’t allow us to hold a referendum on January 16. We are trying to discuss with Brussels in order to convince them to let Serbian citizens vote,” – said the head of the Serbian state.
Vucic also emphasized that Prishtina is refusing all kinds of dialogue, conversation or even an agreement on the disappeared, as well as any other idea about implementing the Brussels agreement, especially when it comes to the Association of Serbian Communes.
On the other hand, Christopher Hill, who has been appointed in the post of the new US ambassador in Belgrade, said before the US Senate that Serbia must normalize its relations with Kosovo, as a precondition for its integration into the EU.
In addition, he said that the issue of the dialogue and normalization of relations between both countries is an objective he will personally follow if he were to be confirmed ambassador in Serbia.
