MPs and directors get the highest annual salaries in the public sector, whereas, in the private sector, the best-paid positions are found in banking and communications.
Data from the latest report published by INSTAT, also show that the average wage in our country, as of September, is fixed at 56.400 Albanian Lek.
The average wage has gone up by 3.200 Lek since last summer.
The rise in the minimum wage as well as the return to work since the beginning of the pandemic, have brought about an expansion of the wage market.
Positions in the public administration get paid more. The average wage in the public sector is 67.500 Lek. MPs, directors, executives and specialists get paid upwards of 95.600 Lek per month.
Meanwhile, based on the different services they offer, the banking and communication sectors usually pay their employees the best wages as the average income, in a bank, ranges from 85.200 to 108.600 Lek.
On the other hand, farmers, fishermen, and basic trade earn a minimum wage of 30 thousand Lek, or 26 000 Lek less than the average wage in Albania.
INSTAT reports that from January to September 2021, the average wage in the public sector hasn’t changed, whereas in the private sector it has been a slight rise.
