On Thursday, Lefter Koka is expected to come forward and have his say in connection to his arrest over a corruptive affair involving the waste incinerator of Elbasan. Koka is believed to have received e €3.7 million bribe.

The former environment minister will appear in front of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime and most likely be handed a prison sentence.

According to the Criminal Code, the offense may be punishable by over 10 years in jail.

Police efforts to find Klodian Zoto and Stela Gugallja, administrators of the incinerator, have been unsuccessful, although the TIMS system ruled out that they might have left the country.

Police searched their homes and some luxurious hotels and fear that they might have crossed the border illegally.

SPAK is close to wrapping up the investigation on the other two incinerators.

At least 15 people are believed to be involved, including former state officials.
