The US Department of State takes action if the general population casts doubt on an ambassador, declared analyst Baton Haxhiu on Shock, broadcasting Monday to Thursday on Euronews Albania.
He said that DoS is “complementary support” in cases people’s perception towards an ambassador becomes suspicious.
“When ambassadors start to live locally, they start making friends and must give some remarks and create situations where they are close to some”, Haxhiu said.
The analyst was referring to a recent State Department declaration saying that the accusations of former PM Sali Berisha against US ambassador Yuri Kim are “unjustifiable”.
Berisha declared that Kim is behaving like “Albania’s governor” and that she supports PM Edi Rama, something that DoS spokesperson Ned Price ruled out as untrue.
