COVID-19 claims 2 lives as daily case count drops

2.278 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in Albania, which confirmed an additional 296 new cases infected with COVID-19.

The virus, unfortunately, claimed 2 lives in the past 24 hours.

In addition, a total of 402 citizens successfully recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 196.700.

There are currently 5.366 active cases in the entire country, 128 of whom are hospitalized and 12 are exhibiting severe forms of the virus.

The ministry of health has continued its daily calls to citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Each citizen over the age of 16 can get two anti-COVID doses, whereas those over the age of 18 can get their booster shots as well when at least 6 months have passed since their last dose.

Vaccination is open to all children over the age of 12, who have underlying health conditions and a doctor’s recommendation.
