December 18 will find Democrats divided. Some of them will be the Palace of Congress for Lulzim Basha’s National Assembly and others will be in their separate district branches, to participate in the referendum called by Sali Berisha.

The Assembly will start at 11:00 a.m. Its objective will be to decide on the future of the party, but a unanimous decision on Berisha and his supporters is also expected to be announced.

This will last around 5 hours and about 30 Democrats will have their say.

The following day, DP’s National Council will convene, where Democrats will decide regarding the organization of DP’s forums and its representation in parliament.

On the other hand, Berisha is asking for a referendum that aims to collect the votes of 75 thousand Democrats for Basha’s dismissal as party chair.

A commission has been formed, which will be tasked with the organization of this referendum, made up of Albana Vokshi, Keltis Kruja, Edith Harxhi, Eno Bozdo and Ervin Minarolli.

Ballot centers will be placed in several cities across the country. In some of the cities, Democrats will be heading to their district branches to cast their ballot, whereas in other cities they’ll head to other public buildings.

Voting for the referendum will last from 08:00 a.m. to 17:00 CET.
