Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared that this day is “historic” for freedom of the Democratic Party, Albania’s political pluralism, and the entire Albanian society.
“For the first time in history, it will be the members of the Democratic Party that will decide to remove Lulzim Basha from a post that he proved never to be worthy of. This is a new chapter in the reestablishment of the Democratic Party and Albanian political pluralism. This is a major act that shook the foundations of the narcostate”.
In addition, Berisha called on citizens to rally on Monday at PM to defend the national interest.
After casting his ballot to sack Basha, he said that this referendum is a sign of hope and liberty.
“America is a country I admire, but taking it from another aspect, today sends a clear message to Europe’s conservative forces, that here members are exercising their right to vote”, declared Berisha as he was exiting one of the voting centers in Tirana near the US Embassy.
