The National Assembly of the Democratic Party convened at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. Two decisions will be made based on the recent internal developments and as a counter-response to Berisha’s assembly held last week on this day.
In total, there are 15 commissions for each region, and a special one for MPs and the National Council.
“Initially, we will verify the delegates then provide them with a ballot paper”, explained Democrat MP Ina Zhupa to Euronews Albania journalist Ardit Hoxha.

“Two votes are set to take place. An open one organized in the main foyer, and a secret ballot in the other rooms to ratify the decisions that will be proposed at the Assembly”, added Zhupa.
Asked about her opinion about Berisha’s referendum, Zhupa called on Democrats to refuse to be a part of it.
One of the outcomes expected from today’s Assembly is a decision that would bar anyone declared persona non grata to being elected as party leader.
The Democrat MP said that this sets a new standard and is applicable to all DP members.
