Minister of health, Ogerta Manastirliu declared earlier today that the government has secured an additional 3 million anti-COVID vaccines.
In addition, she emphasized that the main goal is to increase vaccination so that the spread of the virus can be kept at bay, especially at a time when end-of-the-year festivities call for larger gatherings of people. According to Manastirliu, experts are currently assessing the situation so they can come out with a final decision on whether tougher anti-COVID measures will need to be imposed at this time.
The health minister also said that according to the experts, the unvaccinated are 10 times more likely to get infected and over 90% more likely to be hospitalized than those who have received their vaccine.
Lastly, she brought to the attention the example of European countries which are enforcing supplementary measures that urge citizens to take better care of themselves and others.
