Serbian president, Alexandar Vucic was asked by Euronews Albania journalist, Eksiola Shehu whether or not his country would recognize Kosovo’s national symbols, like its name and flag, if it were to ultimately become part of Open Balkan.
According to Vucic, this wouldn’t be an issue.
“Belgrade and Prishtina hold different viewpoints, but this shouldn’t be a reason for us to not talk to each other and this isn’t a reason for someone to not be a part of Open Balkan,” – said the Serbian president.

According to Vucic, it would be very productive to have the invitation come directly from the Serbian president because it is specifically for reason that Kosovo wouldn’t agree to become a part of the initiative.
However, my presence, said Vucic, has nothing to do with the political dispute between both countries, which according to him should be dealt with in Brussels.
The Serbian president also noted that he would be more than willing to work towards projects that revolve around free movement and the economy.
He extended an invitation to Montenegro and Bosnia Hercegovina as well, so that citizens of these nations can also be aware of the benefits of this initiative.
According to Vucic, the ones who don’t accept this invitation will only lose time in their EU integration and for as long as Open Balkan support all bridges of collaboration, they don’t need to beg anyone who doesn’t show responsibility and seriousness.
