Kosovo’s Court of Appeal confirmed the indictment on the former Minister for European Integration Dhurata Hoxha along with five other officials.
As a consequence, the court upheld the judgment that the defendants are to be tried for abuse of office.
Criminal proceedings began in 2019 in connection with the allegations that the defendants had used public funds to lobby for border changes, as a viable solution for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
The Appeal dismissed the defendants’ arguments as unfounded and upheld the indictment of Pristina’s Basic Court.
The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo indicted the former minister and other alleged officials that cooperated with her, in July.
The defendants have pleaded not guilty.
