The President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski has officially submitted the mandate to Dimitar Kovaçevski, the new leader of the ruling SDSM party, paving the way to the formation of the new government.

Zaev’s successor said that he will immediately start picking out the members of his new cabinet.

“It is a great honor and responsibility to be handed the mandate to form the new government by President Pendarovski”, he said. “We live in turbulent and ambiguous times, something that requires people that are stable, responsible and courageous”.

The day before, economist Kovacevski received the blessing from the party leadership to be the new prime minister.
