In 2022, the minimum wage is set to go from the current 30 000 ALL (around 250 euros) to 32 000 ALL or a 15 euro rise.
Along with other promises made by the Socialist-led government, a rise of salaries is also set to take place in July 2022 for all public workers.
Doctors, nurses and teacher will be given a 6% pay rise, armed forces will be given a 30% rise, whereas police officers working away from home, a 150% rise.
In July, the progressive taxation program is also expected to change, affecting all those who get paid under 40 000 ALL (350 euros), who will no longer be taxed.
Wages from 40 to 50 thousand ALL will be taxed 6.5%, whereas those getting over 200 thousand ALL per month will be taxed 23%.
This year will also mark the beginning of work for the construction of the new Port of Durres. The new project is valued at around 2 billion euros – and will be funded by the Emaar firm, operating in Dubai.
The airport of Vlora and tunnel of Llogara are another two major projects which will begin during 2022.
