Professor Artan Fuga said in an interview on Euronews Albania that the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, is not being positioned as he should in wake of the recent developments.

According to him, Basha must take up the role of the leader and not make distinctions among party members based on who is with him, or against.

“No, that was not the right position for Basha and he made a wrong move,” said Fuga.

Prof. Fuga added that the locked doors at DP’s headquarters will lead to an ugly show on January 8, on the day of the protests called by Berisha.

Asked about how he would position himself, Prof. Fuga said that he classifies among those who feel sorry for the opposition and the democracy.

“Every negotiation is an end to the Democratic Party and a delegitimization of these two groupings,” he said.

Prof. Fuga said he would be interested to see the same situation at the Socialist Party in order to legitimize voices who think differently.
