Two of the arrested in connection with the wage leak scandal work at the General Directorate of Taxation, while the other two are in the private sector.

Tirana’s chief prosecutor Elisabeta Imeraj said that IT specialist Eni Qirjako sent the data to her colleague Andi Agaraj, who then sold the sensitive data to third parties. The arrested buyers that worked in the private sector are Klodian Sota and Endri Ikonomi.

“As a result of the preliminary investigation, we managed to discover and identify so far four perpetrators. Two of them are employed as IT in the General Directorate of Taxation and we have reasonable doubt based on evidence that the personal sensitive data was leaked from there”, said Imeraj.

Tirana’s chief prosecutor also clarified that the case is not only about interference in the computer network, but misuse of office.
