The ministry of health has announced that in the past 24 hours, as a result of 8.105 tests conducted nationwide, a total of 1.781 new COVID cases were confirmed in our country.

The is the highest number of new cases ever reported in a single day, whereas a day ago, that number was over 1.600.

Out of the 1.781 new cases, 919 are in Tirana, followed by 93 in Durres, 68 in Shkoder, 60 in Fier and 59 in Vlore.

There are currently, 10.789 active patients in our country, 111 hospitalizations, 12 of whom are exhibiting more serious forms of the virus.

Although the number of new cases has surged, in the past 24 hours, no fatalities were reported.

This is the first time in 136 days that COVID-19 doesn’t take any lives in a 24 hours-interval.
