Former PM Sali Berisha held a meeting with the members of a provisional committee tasked to reform the Democratic Party, where he said that the protest was peaceful.
The former head of the DP reiterated that the battle is not over an office but against “the hostile efforts of Edi Rama to eradicate political pluralism in Albania”.
“We are on a mission of extraordinary and vital importance to defend political pluralism in Albania. Today, after 9 years, Albanians finally got to see a real opposition force”, declared Berisha.
Berisha claimed that today’s protest served to prove that Basha is in a criminal alliance with PM Edi Rama against the Democrats of the nation.
“This protest aimed to open the armored doors locked by Edi Rama and his hostage Lulzim Basha”, he said.
Berisha accused the State Police of arresting a dozen of protesters only because they participated in the rally.
