The comedy of world-famous British play writer, William Shakespeare, ‘The Merchant of Venice’ is being put on stage at Korca’s ‘Andon Zako Cajupi’ theater.

Before the first show, the director Qendrim Rijani, spoke about the behind-the-scenes, while calling this endeavor ‘a great responsibility’.

“The fact that I’m coming back to Korca for the fourth time in a row, is a great responsibility in and of itself. This has also been one of the things that made me anxious before putting this show on the stage, whether or not we’ll be able to bring the same level of performance before Korca’s audience or even outdo ourselves.

I believe that based on the reactions we got last night, we have been able to reach our goal and offer a good show,” -said Rijani.

Shakespeare’s famous play has been received well by Korca’s public, who has so far filled up the theaters. The show will continue through to last week.
