The executive council of the Democratic Party is currently in a meeting which was called by the leader of the party Lulzim Basha.

The meeting requested from Basha started around 6:30 PM.

It remains to be seen whether the council will take any measures against MPs that sided with Berisha, as well as former officials banned from the party after participating in the convention held on December 11.

The police intervened to disperse the protesters called by Sali Berisha, one of the founders of the Albanian Democratic Party.

In a public announcement released on Sunday, the Ombudsman declared that a total of 59 citizens have been taken into custody, 8 of whom were minors.

In addition, 7 citizens were taken to the hospital, including a police officer.
