Democratic Party MP, Sorina Koti, said on Euronews Albania’s ‘Morning’ that she won’t be recognizing a likely decision made by DP chair, Lulzim Basha, to expel her from the party’s Parliamentary Group.

“No one can be expelled, as everyone has given their contribution,” – said the MP, while underlining that she has been voted by Democrats and under no circumstances will she disappoint them.

“I haven’t been absent, not even once during the Economy Commission meetings and in Parliament. Our fight is with Rama, not democrats,” – said Koti.

In addition, the MP said that so far, she hasn’t received any invitations to meetings of the Parliamentary Group.

“We have never said that we will be parting from DP. We are DP. I can never be separated from my membership. In no way, have we ever articulated, that we will be parting our ways with DP. We are an integral part of this political force, along with its members and militants,” – said Koti.

In regards to the decision, of DP’s leadership for the expulsion of 8 members of the Refoundation Commission, Koti said that she is shocked.

“I’m shocked. We don’t have the luxury to expel people from leading positions, MPs, or regular members. Banning people who have contributed years of their lives to DP, who have brought DP to power, means you’re losing much of yourself,” – said the Democratic MP.
