Albania reported 2,177 new single-day cases, the highest ever recorded since the beginning of the pandemic.

Deaths were also high in the country of some 2.8 million, with authorities reporting 6 deaths over the course of the last 24 hours. The official death toll from the virus now stands at 3,247.

Almost 205,000 citizens have recovered from COVID-19, out of an estimated 222,664 that have tested positive.

Active cases across the country rose to 15,318, with nearly a halt detected in the capital.

However, hospitalizations figures have remained pretty much the same despite record high daily cases.
