34 protesters are set to appear in front of the judge at the Tirana Court on Wednesday. The protesters were detained following the unrest that ensued during Saturday’s protest in front of the headquarters of the Democratic Party.
The Prosecution sought to release 29 protesters on recognizance and demanded home arrest for 5 others.
Democrat MPs and party supporters also attended today’s hearing in court.
After the violent protest organized by one of the founders of the Albanian Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, law enforcement authorities detained 34 protesters.
Sources confirmed that there are several nationals from Kosovo and North Macedonia among the detained.
